Solutions for the Mind

During non-REM (NREM) sleep, the brain generates slow oscillations, deep waves of electrical activity that are fundamental for healthy aging. These slow waves support the consolidation of new memories, the learning of new information, the strengthening of the immune system, and the clearance of abnormal proteins such as beta-amyloid, which is a precursor of Alzheimer’s disease. From the age of forty to fifty, these slow oscillations naturally begin to deteriorate, showing a decline in both quantity and amplitude. This reduction has a direct impact on memory, learning capacity, immunity, brain health, and overall quality of life.

At NeuroAcoustics, we are developing closed-loop auditory stimulation technology specifically designed for older adults who already experience changes in these brain rhythms. Our system enhances deep sleep by boosting slow-wave activity in real time, with the goal of restoring healthy brain function, improving sleep quality, and ultimately contributing to better daily functioning and long-term wellbeing.
